Candidate

A candidate is a person who has applied for or is being considered for a job opening within an organization in the context of recruitment and hiring. Job postings, employee recommendations, career fairs, and direct applications are just a few examples of the many sources of potential applicants. They are people who have communicated interest in the position and have done whatever it may take to be considered for work.
After applying or expressing an interest in a position, candidates typically go through a selection process that may include reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, conducting assessments, and checking references. Employers can use these evaluations to assess a candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, and cultural fit for the company. The job may be offered to candidates who successfully complete the selection process, or they may proceed to the subsequent hiring stage.
The term “candidate” is frequently used to distinguish applicants or potential job seekers from those who are actively being considered for a particular position. It connotes that the individual has advanced past the underlying application stage and is being assessed as need might arise. To find the best candidate for a position, employers devote time and resources to candidate evaluation.
In a nutshell, a candidate is a person who has applied for a position or expressed an interest in it and is being considered for employment by an organization. They go through a choice interaction that surveys their capabilities, abilities, experience, and social fit. Individuals who have advanced past the initial application stage and are actively being evaluated for a specific job role are referred to as “candidates.”
